Places Thailand (places-th.com) is an independent venue discovery and culinary intelligence platform in Thailand. We maintain public profiles for restaurants and dining establishments across Thailand and provide verified business owners and authorized representatives with secure tools to review, claim, and manage their restaurant information.
B. Information Collected During Owner Verification
When you initiate or complete the restaurant owner verification process, we collect and process only the information strictly necessary to authenticate your identity, establish administrative authorization, and operate the service. This includes:
- LINE Account Identifier: Your unique LINE user identifier (userId / OIDC sub) obtained through LINE Login.
- LINE Profile Information: Basic public profile details made available through LINE Login (display name and profile image).
- Restaurant & Venue Identity: The identifier, name, and address of the restaurant claimed.
- Ownership Verification Records: Evidence, verification nonces, timestamps, and documentation provided to establish operational authorization for the establishment.
- Owner-Submitted Restaurant Information: Factual updates, business hours, contact channels, menu details, or other information you submit for your venue profile.
- Security & Audit Records: Timestamps, state nonces, transition event logs, and technical telemetry required to secure the authentication process and prevent abuse.
We do not collect unnecessary personal data or data not directly required to operate the service.
C. Why the Information Is Used
We process collected data exclusively for the following operational purposes:
- To authenticate your identity using the LINE Login OAuth 2.0 / OIDC service.
- To connect an ownership claim to the specific restaurant profile.
- To verify and confirm your legitimate ownership or managerial authorization for the venue.
- To provide access to the My Restaurant partner portal and management tools.
- To maintain, correct, and update accurate restaurant information across our platform.
- To communicate essential service-related and administrative notices regarding your venue listing.
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, unauthorized claims, impersonation, or abuse.
- To maintain audit, transition, and security records necessary to operate the service securely.
D. LINE Login & Authentication
LINE Login is used solely as an identity authentication mechanism. Authenticating via LINE Login alone does NOT establish or prove restaurant ownership.
Ownership verification is a separate, dedicated operational step requiring validation of your authority to represent the venue before management rights are granted.
E. Public Restaurant Data
Restaurant and venue listings on Places Thailand may already exist from public, licensed, or first-party editorial sources. Verified owner submissions serve to correct, update, or supplement this public information. We do not make unsupported claims regarding third-party sourcing.
F. Expert Score Editorial Independence
The Places Thailand Expert Score is determined strictly by objective editorial and algorithmic quality methodology. The Expert Score is completely independent from payment, commercial plan status, or advertising arrangements.
Payment or enrollment in commercial partner tiers (such as Emerald) cannot purchase, boost, or alter a restaurant’s Expert Score.
G. Owner Submissions
Information submitted by a verified owner may become public on the restaurant profile when verified and published. Verified owners must ensure they possess the necessary rights and permissions for any information or materials provided.
H. Data Sharing & Processing
We do not sell personal data. Information may be processed by technical infrastructure and service providers strictly required to operate the service, including hosting infrastructure, database services, and LINE where LINE authentication or messaging features are utilized.
I. Information Security
We maintain operational security measures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including HTTPS encryption, secure cryptographic token hashes, and role-based access restrictions. While we apply standard operational security safeguards, no electronic system can be guaranteed completely invulnerable.
